Air Travel Apps Performance on Unified Platform in Kenya Q2 2021

In the second quarter of 2021, the air travel apps landscape in Kenya saw varying performance trends across the top five applications, as reported by Sensor Tower.

KQ Mobile experienced a noticeable fluctuation in downloads, initially at 228 in early April, peaking at 1.7K in mid-May, and eventually tapering off to 129 by the end of June. Despite the fluctuations in downloads, the app reported no revenue during this period.

Flightradar24 Flight Tracker from Flightradar24 AB showed a stable revenue stream, starting at $201 in late March and reaching $238 by the end of June. Downloads varied slightly, starting at 387 and decreasing to 169 by the quarter's end. The app maintained a consistent user base, with active users peaking at around 1.5K in mid-June.

FlyJambojet saw a modest download trend, beginning at 242 and peaking at 354 in early May, before decreasing to 160 by late June. Similar to KQ Mobile, FlyJambojet did not generate any revenue during the quarter.

Ethiopian Airlines had a consistent download range, starting from 230 and ending at 116. The app did not report any revenue throughout the quarter. Active users showed a slight decline, beginning at 1.2K and decreasing to 929 by the end of June.

Planes Live - Flight Tracker from Mobile Heroes demonstrated a steady revenue trend, starting at $121 and reaching $137 by the end of June. Downloads fluctuated, peaking at 374 in mid-April and declining to 58 by the quarter's end. The app maintained a strong active user base, reaching 2.9K in mid-June.
